What are friends?

Friends are people who are true and faithful. They do not betray, back stab, abandon you when you are in need. They will do their best to help you, listen to you when you are in trouble or sadness. They will cheer you up when you are sad or depressed. They will try to help you feel better when you are hurt or in pain. They will try to comfort you when you are angry. They will reassured you when you are in disaster and trouble. They will shelter you when you are abandon. They will save you or protect you when you need it. They will try to understand you. Even when you are resting, dating, when you are in bed in the middle of the night, when you need their help desperately, they will come to you. They will help you without asking for anything in return. They will not use you. Most of all, they will love you for who you are.

Indeed friends are great. They will try to help you as much as their ability allow them. Maybe they will even go over their ability allow them and go to the extreme to help you. There are so many more things I can list out. So let me ask you a question. Can I be your friend?

Broken Promises & Lies

No matter what they do, no matter where there go, no matter what they do, they are always lying. I won't say who.

Have you ever been promised of something by someone? No matter how small or how big is the promise, no matter if it is materialistic or not, no matter if it is by actions or or by mouth, a promise is a promise. I will not lie and say that I have never broke a promise. But what happen if someone did it to you? How about someone you trust? Or maybe close to you? For me, I will feel very disappointed and angry.

There are those who are always the one that scolds us for not keeping our promises. They scold us for taking back our words. They act high and mighty above others. But they never admit their own mistakes. Their own lies. The promises which they made, broke it, sweep it under the carpet and act like it never existed.

I have heard some people saying that when they broke or cannot fulfill their promises to their children, friend or family, they will lie and and make more promises to keep them quiet or to keep the children from "disturbing them". What utter rubbish. Those are nothing but excuses. If you cannot keep your promises, why not tell the truth and face the music. Is your pride more important than the trust of others or even the trust of your own love ones?

Think about others before your pride. Think about what will happen when you lie. When you break your promises. And when you create more promises which you cannot keep. Remember, people who make broken promises and lie, are rubbish.

Smoking, shisha (hookah), pornography, heavy drinking, sex before marriage, getting a girlfriend for fun.

Most of this were the stuff that some of my friends always ask me to try. My answer you may ask, is, and always will be, NO!!! And when the word "NO" escape my mouth, this is the usual reply that I get.

a) DAMN!!! THIS SHOW THAT YOU ARE NOT A MAN AT ALL!!!
b) ARE YOU EVEN HUMAN?
c) GETTING INTO A FOR FUN RELATIONSHIP IS BETTER!!!

So here is some question I will ask them:

a) Must I smoke and drink alot to show that I'm a man? Is it wrong to keep my body healthy?

b) Do I really have to get a girlfriend just for the fun of it? Why can't I get into a serious relationship? Is my decision wrong?

c) Must watching pornography and having sex before marriage show that I'm a human? NO!!! So are you saying I'm not human?

I mean come on people. Must I do all of this to show that I'm a man? There are plenty of other ways for me to show that I'm a man.

All of this will eventually lead to their final question:

"WHY MUST YOU BE SOOOOO HOLY!!! WHY MUST YOU BE SO RELIGIOUS?!"

So? why can't I? I ask you right now. Is it wrong?

But one thing I know for sure is I will respect you and still treat you as my friend but I will never follow what you do no matter what you say, no matter how you mock me, I will never join you in any of those acts.

I have been recently thinking about my attitude, and I question myself, why am I lazy and blur? And I compare myself with my friends. If they can study and finish their homework/ assignment in one day, why can't I? If they can do well in exam, why can't I?

Now I think I know why. It's my attitude. You see, I'm a person that loves to be carefree. Not to bother about anything or everything. Just to live life as it is. But that cause me to become lazy. Because of my laziness, I suffer.

Well, now I have decided. I will not be lazy anymore. I will do my best to be hardworking. It will take some time to change my lazy attitude but I will do it no matter what.

TIME!!! Something that is unchangeable... No one can stop, fast forward or rewind time...

So that is the reason why we should appreciated the time we have... Unfortunately I'm not... My time management is very bad actually. I can never finish my work on time without stressing out. Even when I'm having a test next Wednesday, here I'm blogging away.

Sometime we wish we have more time. But we can never change the fact that we only have 24 hours a day, minus the amount of time we sleep, we will only have so little time to do something.

So I'm doing my best to change my attitude. To use my time wisely. What about you? Think about it.

Horror crash near NS-Malacca border on the 10/10/10

On Monday morning, 11/10/2010, I bought The star newspaper like any other day. But this time it was different. The front cover was about an accident which took place around 6.50pm and at the border between Seremban and Melaka.

It was a scary news about how badly the accident was. To make matter worse, I was invited to a group titled "Pray for our macho guy... Ah Yong.... hope he will get well soon.........".

The first thought that came to my mind was, "this must be a joke, this can't be the Ah Yong from college". But then as I kept reading the whole page of the event, all I can think of is, "crap... is the big guy all right? God, please help him (f.y.i, I'm a Christian)". and the next thing I was sending e-mails all of my friends to ask them to help pray for Ah Yoong.

Tan Giin Rong also known as Ah Yong is 18 this year, a student of Tar College main branch and my course mate. The news about him involving in the accident was shocking and sadden me in a way.

Within two days of the incident, many articles could be found online. But so far, the article with the most detailed information of pictures which I could find was from this link:

My college semester 2 have started like 2 weeks ago and now I have to join a co-curriculum activity. And out of all of the activities, only Taekwondo is available for me. Not to brag but I have learned WTF Taekwondo 7 years ago but I did not like it because of how undisciplined the class was at that time so I stopped and I joined Shito-ryu Karate-do until I was 15 and I enjoyed it. Hopefully this time, this Taekwondo willl be better.

Remember a few days ago I sad I was depressed and emo? Well... No, I'm still depressed and emo.... but now I'm in pain due to muscle aching, hurt, tired due to lack of sleep until u can see dark bags under my eyes. Serious!!! My face is also now very pale... So far I only know that Chan will be in Rawang and Steph will be in Kuala Kubu Bharu. The rest, tak tahu. But maybe I'll visit this two people. =D

RBS Experience

Well, this is a overview or you can say testimony of my RBS experience and I'm going to be transparent here. Let's start...

RBS was really a wonderful experience to me. I was actually worried of going RBS because I'm the only fella from MGC but I wasn't worried about anything else. When I first got down the car at HCC (Highland Christian Centre), I felt very out of place. The weather was cold and the place was pack with people I didn't know. I then bit my family farewell, feeling happy to be away from the nagging and noise of their voices but then as the was almost near the main gates, I feel that I actually care about them. I actually, feel sad and I miss them already. But i just shrugged the feeling.

First day was awkward. Introduction was so scary. And even as the days goes by, I seldom dare to start a talk first or join a group because I was afraid of them. So I mostly stay alone and just emo. I even ate my lunch super fast just to play the piano alone so nobody can come and disturb. But then sometime I will also join this groups but just talk a little and join their little jokes. But sometime I'll also become emo for no apparent reason. But I'll usually have some close friends like:

1)Chander (my good friend whose laughter can make you laugh like crazy and a guy you can share your problems with. And a photographer. Another photographer is Meng Xian)
2)Tiam Fei (good hearted, care for others, and always willing to share and help)
3)Bryan (another MADMONKEYZ rock climber) by my side.
4) Luke (the acting Joker)

Even eating breakfast or lunch on Sunday would mostly be silent for me since I always go down alone. But then on our final Sunday, Stephanie and Shenice actually sat with me for breakfast and Steph ask me to follow them shopping. At least I wasn't alone that morning. Thanks.

The classes at HCC was very interesting and the teachers are so fun. Like:

1) Uncle Dexter who is like a father to us more than a headmaster
2) the famous Colin Kirton
3) Auntie Mei Lin who always give food to us
4) Ann the first add medic and also....
5) the unforgettable "RUDI!!!"...

Unfortunately I fell asleep during the Old and New Testament classes... =P Even activities like the jungle trekking, treasure hunt, captain ball, team building games and etc. was so AWESOME!!!

Okie now... Presenting, Team Shirtliff of RBS 2010...!!! I really love my team and somehow got attached to them... Now I miss them so much. lol... Well presenting:

1) my supervisors was Solomon and Luanne (both are super chun people and so fun to be with)
2) Eng Aun (the team leader which show that a team leader doesn't always have to lead but instead support the group in the shadow and also the "Elder" lol),
3) Shenice,
4) Derek (the great speaker, Zamar member)
5) Ian (our bass guitarist, Zamar member)
6) Tze Lin
7) Timothy Ong (the singer, Zamar member)
8) Stephanie (the girl that like to help others and always make people smile)
9) finally me (Jeffrey the emo boy but creative with his hand in making props =P)

And we been through a lot together. We had our OA mission trip and even a mission trip to Daya Gospel Centre where we meet Sabrina and the youth members but I only remember Jennifer from there...

So yeah... I really enjoyed RBS and I was really sad that it ended. But I've still been seeing my RBS friends once in a while so I'm happy... =D

Doesn't mean that if I did not write your name or comment about you means you are not important to me. You have your own ability given by God but maybe I never notice it.

Okie... I'm kind of bored and have nothing to do now beside blogging and making a pair of Hot Rods drumstick to replace the destroyed one in my church, reading my other friends blog and listening to music from Youtube.

I wish there is something to do.

To be honest, I wanted to go rock climbing everyday to become fit. But, money prob =P... I spend a lot lately. But now I suddenly look back to RBS as I'm posting some pictures now and I miss it a lot. The fun staffs, the delicious food, the weather, the people, games and sports like ping pong and captain ball, the mission prep and the other activities!!!

I hope to see everyone again soon... =P

Preparation for SMKTM Water Rocket Competition 2009

Well, early of this year, me and my teammate was preparing for a water rocket competition...

We didn't get 1st place as expected because the launcher have some problem but it was great...

The team consist of:
1) Jeffrey Tay (me)- researcher, designer, builder.
2) Chan Weng Chung- air tank loader.

Let me show you...

Earlier Preparation

This is the launcher. The design is based on "Clark's Cable Tie Launcher". Detail about it go and find on the internet.

This is the full view of the early launcher... In the later version, I'll be adding handles and trigger to make it look like a RPG (rocket propel grenade) launcher.

The almost front section. I placed the pressure valve there so i could check the pressure to ensure I don't blow up the rocket.

This is the earlier version of the lock mechanism. In the next version I'll be using a spring or a bicycle hand brake system to open the lock. I'll also be adding some extra cable ties for more secure when locking the rocket.

This is the back section. I make sure the air valve is pointing downwards to avoid poking peoples eyes when I'm carrying the launcher.

This is the front section. In this picture, I loaded my rocket onto the barrel but haven't lock it yet since it is a waste of time.

In the nose of the rocket, I use a wooden chopstick and hot glue it to the bottle then I fit the cone on to give it more support.

Test Flight in School
Below is the video for the rocket test flight. Please watch carefully cause I use a camera so it is easy to miss the rocket landing.

This two pics were taken after the first flight test and as you can see, the support beam for the nose broke after the cone sank into the ground upon landing.

The cone was just a dented but the support beam snap in half.

Competition Day
This is one of the opposing team.

After launch, the nose totally tore and it crash land due to too much pressure, poor support beam, poor cone material, and broken barrel of the launcher.

I predicted something like a failure would be unavoidable so I build a backup rocket. You'll Notice it's different from the other one.This is because this black rocket is build for speed.
Unfortunately the backup rocket also fail to fly due to the launcher broken barrel.

I'll post more update when I complete my new launcher and rocket. =D

Well my blog have been kind of dead for months so I’ll write about what happen on Sunday, 23/8/2009 when my church, MGC when for a church family camp at a place I can’t remember the name. =P

I was invited by my friend Melissa to play a game of dodge ball in the evening around 5.30pm, so I say why not? Sound interesting.

So around 5.40pm the sun was shining brightly (^.^)… so those who can’t use their imagination have a look at the pic.

Well, this is my first blog and it was created earlier. So after a few months, I decided to make my first post. Hope you enjoy will like it.

Well, its been a 4 days since I came back from a wonderful camp called “ARE YOU I.T.?”. I think we had 7 people coming for this year camp for the first time which are, Joelle, Roshyen, Desmond, Samris, Amris, Reuben and Kimberly and they all seem to get along.

The peoples in every group to me are special in their own way. That’s why we all have a great camp.

I just want to say that the camp was super great. We had the camp at the Genting Dominic Villa" from the 6th to 9th of December 2008 so we had cold air everyday =P. I slept very well until like I don't want to wake up. Even singing the camp song, "From The Inside Out" by Hillsong was fun. Everyday we just keep singing louder and louder.

I also want to thanks for the committee or is it he camp committee or both to let me join the camp committee. At first I thought i would be a trouble maker as usual (I'm sorry if i ever was =P) but in the end it was fine and tiring. I also want to say it was fun having many people joining camp, usual youth and new youth, the camp parents, advisers and the speaker. LETS BRING MORE PEOPLE NEXT YEAR!!! HUZAAA!!!

6th December 08

On the first day, we arrived and it was raining. Not so heavy la... Look: Thx Shaun =P

Wet,wet, wet =D

Playing the games at night was also fun... the first game "Web" was very fun. We needed to carry people through a wall of raffia string without touching it.

AND WE DID IT!!! (but actually there was many foul =P, but Lydia didn't mind =P)

7th December 08

Wow... waking up on this day was not well. I set my alarm to 6am and I woke up around6.20am =P. So me and Ash went down stairs and meet the girls. It was so misty that taking photo was
terrible =P

Today was also the day to play the "Treasure Hunt" or should we say "Station Hunt". Preparing the game was not fun. It was so stressful cause I didn't prepare it earlier =P. So I totally stress my out and almost exploded.

The movie at night "Facing the Giant" was so nice =D. It touched so many people. We are now inspired to play better in Copa Iba!

8th December 2008

Today it have to rain for THE WHOLE DAY!!! Almost.... =P. Because of this, we couldn't play a game most of us, especially guys, were looking forward too... WATER WAR!!!

Because of that, we have to use...

I don't know the original name of the game but i call it "Monkeying Around". It is so funny and fun!!!

We check on Ash a few times to make sure he is not cheating. We smack the masking tape on him 4 times!!! lolx =P

The path resemble our life.
The strings resemble the obstacle we have to go through in our life.
The cutting of the string resemble that God made out life straight.
The people disturbing... eer.... resemble that satan will try to block our straight life with God.

At the end, my one of my friend beat me for tricking her, but she stop and did something worse, she TICKLE ME!!!

At night was time for our happy hour. We all was given some random stuff and have to use it in our play like banana!!!

It was a blast. We laugh our hearts out due to the amount of comedy made by each group like:
-Digi man
-Mr P
-Mr and Mrs Smith
-Mr Banana
-Banana Agents, "BANANA UNITE!!!"
-Japanese lady (tak ingat)
-Blur girl(tak ingat)
-Dances
-etc...

After that, we watch video of "Monkeying Around". Just look at our faces. We look so happy.

This was also our last night for camp so there is no better way to spend it but to enjoy it =D. Starting with..... (drum roll) "MAFIA". Even the camp parents joined us.

Secret Revealed!!! "Why the Guys Dorm Was Noisy"

When it was time to sleep, we all left except me, Shaun, Ashveen and Adrian. Adrian was the first to leave with one of the tin of biscuit then me and Ash then only Shaun cause we were cleaning up some mess left around by somebody. Hm... I wonder who...

In the dorm, Adrian snap a picture with his flash.

Nat replied, "somebody want to die"

Then me , Nat and Ash whacked Adrian with our pillow and jumped onto Reuben's bed. We even threw the rafia string used for the "Web" game onto Adrian and he shouted it was sticky.

Then the trios next target was Roshen. Then when Tze Shern make noise, Nat and Ash hide by his bedside, then i join them and whacked him. Then Ivan make noise also. So we he trios, with Roshen and Adrian attacked him. Then Desmond decided to betray his brother. We whacked Ivan up with our pillow until he shouted. My pillow was partly destroyed and then a knock was heard on our door.

Nat shouted, "RETREAT!!! RETREAT!!!"

We ran back to our bed and Nat unlock the door. Then Lydia came in and you can guess what happen. The guys was bombarded. =P Nite

9th December 2008

Morning arise and we had our photo session early cause people have class (so hard working). We dressed into our camp shirts and got ready at the main stairs. We look so cool and might I say SEXY (dancing around)!!! Joking =P

At the end we all went home. I was sad the camp ended but happy to have enjoyed the 4 days and 3 nights. Here is the photo of our villa on the last day after lunch. Bye Villa!!!
